Are There Risks?
Most patients will notice an immediate improvement in their vision following
their surgery, and by the next day their vision is often dramatically
improved. Patients may experience discomfort in the first 24-48 hours
after surgery. Other side effects, although rare, may include glare; seeing
halos around images; difficulty driving at night; fluctuating vision;
or dry eyes.

"As an ophthalmologist who performs LASIK myself, I was very selective regarding with whom I decided to have my surgery. I knew Dr. Smith to be well trained and an expert in this procedure. Of course, the most important reason I would recommend Dr. Smith is that my vision was 20/20 plus, one day after surgery."

No surgery is ever 100% free of risk. National data shows that in a small
percentage of cases, some patients may experience one or more of the following:
- Infection
- Dry Eye
- Undercorrection or overcorrection
- Worse vision
- Excess corneal haze
- Regression
Dr. Smith will help you weigh the benefits and risks of each option available
to you. However, following pre- and post-operative instructions closely
will substantially minimize the risk of developing any complications.
